The smoky mountains. Asheville. Biltmore Estate and fine wine. I was surprised to find that North Carolina is on the Lonely Planet Top 10 places to visit in USA list. I had earlier ignorantly assumed it was hot, dry and boring.
Some of the above named wonders make North Carolina beautiful, but I did not get to see any of this.
Still, it was nice to have a break from our week of hard work, and so off I went to the beach with my ivory-skinned European colleagues.
If you can’t go to the beach right now, much less to the US, you can still have a break in other ways… Like having a Kit Kat.
This post is inspired by Kit Kat – Different wrapping in the US, but same great taste!
Roadtrip to Wilmington, NC
It started with a race between Mustang VS Jeep – boys VS girls. The boys got lost and took too many stopbreaks – Jeep/girls won.
A day at Wrightsville beach, Wilmington, NC
Silly T-shirts I wanted to to get for my guy friends!
We got some lunch and then just mucked around. A lot. Here are a lot of pictures of the mucking…
The boys Tilly and Cillian made some waves.
The weather was perfect but the water was quite cold. Still, I was very happy to catch some surf!
Made friends with the lifeguards, some were also magazine-cover male models. They were nice, but were too tanned and their teeth were too white. I asked them about sharks.
Thank you Wrightsville, for good weathered friends and good weather.
Summer sun, wait for us, we’re chasing you so don’t stop shining – here we come.
Surf, sun, sand and our rented 2011 Mustang – I had a perfect USA summer weekend.
Catch your own big break too.
Are you a creative person? As part of a contest organised by Kit Kat ®, they are giving illustrators, designers and artists a chance to win prizes and catch their own big break. All you need to do is give your own creative spin on what taking a break means to you.
