Food in Film at The University Club: A Delicious Date Idea
Sick of the usual dinner-then-movie dates that everyone does in Singapore? This is different.
Already in its 3rd installment, Food in Film is a bi-monthly event hosted at The University Club (Kent Ridge Drive area) by the same cool people who run Stereolab/Stereolounge/Hacienda/Privé, and it combines a film screening with a fancy dinner.
Imagine watching a movie, looking with hungry eyes at the scrumptious feast unfolding on the big screen… And then eating it. YUM!
What’s on the menu?
Coming right up on Aug 18th this Thursday, there is a screening for Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Film, 1987 Danish film “Babette’s Feast”, and the organizers tell me they will be setting the mood for le romance by serving up a fancy schmancy French feast (prepared exclusively for the event by the Privé group chefs), right out of the movie after the screening.
Good food for the mood: Boneless Quail In Puff Pastry, Wild Forest Mushroom Consommé and Rum Baba, and Tart au Chocolat for dessert… Are you in love yet?
What and when?
Each Food in Film Session is complete with a film-inspired welcome cocktail, snacks throughout the movie and last but not least, the much-awaited movie-inspired dinner.
Aug 18th this Thursday, 7PM onwards – 11PM (Movie screening begins at 7.30PM)
